Privacy Policy - Street Hebrew

This Privacy Policy explains how Street Hebrew (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit streethebrew.com or get in touch about a Hebrew lesson.

We keep this policy in plain English and as short as we can. If you have any questions, email addamcorre@gmail.com and we will answer.

1. Who we are

Street Hebrew is a private, one-on-one Hebrew teaching service operated from Israel. The site and lessons are run by Addam Corré.

2. What information we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Specifically:

Information you give us directly

Your name, email address, and any message content when you submit the contact form
Any details you share by email or phone when arranging or running a lesson — for example your level, your goals, or scheduling preferences

Information collected automatically

IP address, browser type, and pages viewed (standard server logs — used to keep the site secure and stable)
Cookies set by WordPress when you log in to the admin area (only relevant if you have an account on the site)
A small amount of data passed to our server when third-party content is embedded — see Third-party services below

We do not run any tracking analytics, advertising pixels, or social media tracking on the site at this time.

3. How we use this information

We use what you give us only for what you would reasonably expect:

To respond to your contact-form submissions and emails
To schedule, run, and follow up on your Hebrew lessons
To send you lesson-related materials such as worksheets, links, and reminders
To keep the site working, secure, and free of abuse

We will not use your information for unrelated marketing without your explicit permission, and we do not share contact details with anyone for promotional purposes.

4. Lawful basis (for visitors in the EU/UK)

Where required by law (GDPR / UK GDPR), we rely on the following lawful bases:

Consent — when you submit the contact form or sign up for any future newsletter, you consent to our using the information for that purpose
Contract / pre-contract — when you arrange a lesson, we process your data to plan and deliver it
Legitimate interest — for basic site security, fraud prevention, and operational logs

5. Third-party services we use

The site relies on a handful of widely-used third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

Web hosting — server logs are kept by our hosting provider for security and uptime monitoring
Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers; this passes your IP address to Google. See policies.google.com/privacy
Google Maps — when you view the embedded map on the Contacts page, Google may set cookies and receive usage data
Gravatar (Automattic) — author avatars on posts are loaded from gravatar.com when applicable; this passes your IP and a hashed version of your email address to Automattic if you have ever used Gravatar with that email
Contact Form 7 plugin — form submissions are processed on our server; no third-party servers are involved by default

We do not sell any personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. Cookies

We use the bare minimum:

WordPress login cookies — only set if you log in to the admin area
Cookies set by third-party embeds (Google Maps, Google Fonts) — see those services’ policies

You can disable cookies in your browser at any time. Most of the site will keep working without them.

7. Data retention

Contact form submissions — kept in the site’s database for as long as needed to respond and any reasonable follow-up; typically removed within 12 months
Email correspondence — kept in the email account for as long as it is relevant to ongoing student work
Server logs — rotated and deleted by our hosting provider on a rolling basis (typically 30–90 days)

If you would like us to delete your data sooner, just ask.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data — sometimes called the “right to be forgotten”
Object to or restrict processing
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority or your country’s data protection regulator)

9. Children

Street Hebrew lessons are aimed at adults and older students. The site is not directed at children under 13. If we ever do work with younger students, we will do so only with explicit parental consent and will not collect more information than needed.

10. Security

We use up-to-date software, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and standard hosting security practices. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add new tools or change how we work. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
