Street Hebrew Teacher
About Addam
I lived in Israel as a todler and in many ways Hebrew entered my life before I fully understood what a gift it would become. But I didn’t learn Hebrew from textbooks. I just had to pick it up from playgrounds, streets, shops, buses, classrooms, neighbours, arguments, jokes, and all the little daily moments that make Israel feel like Israel.
Around 20 years ago, I made Aliyah myself. So I know that moving to Israel is not just about changing country. It is about finding your feet in a completely new rhythm of life. The language is a huge part of that. Hebrew can open doors, but it can also make people feel embarrassed, stuck, or strangely outside the conversation, even after years of living here.
That is why I created Street Hebrew. I wanted to teach Hebrew in a way that feels practical, human, and connected to real life. Not just grammar rules and vocabulary lists, but the Hebrew you actually need when speaking to your child’s teacher, going to the doctor, ordering in a shop, reading a WhatsApp message, or trying to join a fast Israeli conversation without freezing.
I work with Anglos, olim, future olim, adults, and kids who want to feel more confident in everyday Israeli life. For some people, that means improving conversation. For others, it means helping a child settle into school, preparing before Aliyah, or finally understanding the Hebrew that has been flying around them for years.
Street Hebrew is personal to me because Israel is personal to me. Language is not just words. It is belonging. It is confidence. It is the difference between watching life happen around you and feeling that you can step into it.
My goal is simple: to help people feel less lost, less nervous, and more at home in Hebrew, one real conversation at a time.
